Slow Cooker Garlic Chicken

These days are still busy but we are starting to eat more at home. Today we threw a whole frozen chicken in the slow cooker to turn into a yummy meal when we return home. There is nothing like returning home to smell an amazing dinner and realize you do not have to do any more work to feed your family a healthy meal.

We used a whole chicken, all of the garlic in the fridge, and some seasoning. I also tossed in a few mushrooms that were about to go bad. Mo was my helper.

Playing with spices.

Mo's Tasks:
  1. Place minced garlic in slow cooker
  2. Add seasoning and spices
  3. Throw chopped mushrooms on top
  4. Turn on slow cooker
Mom's Tasks:
  1. Place chicken in slow cooker
  2. Mince garlic
  3. Chop mushrooms
This is a simple main dish that is easy to pair with instant brown rice, frozen peas and corn, and some mandarin oranges oranges from the pantry. Healthy and quick.

  1. This sounds wonderful! We will have to try it.

  2. ohhh...whole chicken in the slow cooker? now why didn't i think of that? how long do you cook it? 5-6 hours on high?

  3. For the literal among us, shouldn't Mom's instructions come first? Do it this way and you've got a chicken sitting on a bunch of stuff that should be on top. Am I misreading this? Great recipe, and I'd love to get it right!
