|A labor of love.|
The girls have been looking forward to this holiday for a bit now. But not for the same reason as many of you. The girls start school tomorrow, the day after Labor Day. Audrey has been a guest in another class all summer and is looking forward to getting back to her regular room. And Maurene will start her first day of preschool tomorrow, in the room Audrey was in all summer. They are both very excited.
We started the day off with a 5k run to help fight human trafficking and then a leisurely second breakfast with friends. The girls asked to get out of the jogger toward the end and ran across the finish line with me. It was the first timed run in which I have no idea how fast I ran because I was too busy helping the girls finish. It felt good.
For lunch we decided a Muffin Tin Monday was in order. We have been busy and it has been a while wince we had them on a regular basis. If things calm down a bit we might try to have them more often. Audrey pulled out most of the ingredients while I was helping Maurene go potty. My baby is almost potty-trained.
I chopped up the fruit Audrey pulled out and the girls loaded their tins. It was a fabulous meal. I think we might have included too much fruit for two young girls. Maybe daddy will help them finish.
