Mommy, Can I Help?

Even though I have been working much more than usual we have still tried to have most of our dinners together as a family. Some nights this means fresh fruit and cold sandwiches. Recently we fell into our usual summer routine of eating fresh corn on the cob for almost every meal. Usually this dish is accompanied by our Simple Chicken or Balsamic Vinegar Pork Chops.

This night we had mashed potatoes and fresh watermelon as well. It was easy to prepare and the girls loved helping. I like to find new ways to include them and this night I had them help with almost every part of our dinner.

Scrubbing potatoes and shucking corn.

Loading mushrooms.

Daddy likes lots of mushrooms.

Some evenings it is a lot easier to include the girls. Next time you are getting ready to prepare dinner think about small tasks your young helpers can assist with to make them feel included. I know my girls love to help in almost any way.

  1. So cute! I love the tasks you have them do. I really need to try and include my boy more too.

    1. Start small. It gets so much easier the more you do it. Audrey started with salads, Mo with batter. Do be careful of excessive stirring.

Audrey wants to hear from you!
