Balsamic Vinegar Pork Chops

We like pork chops for dinner. They cook quick and are hard to mess up. Although, if you ask, you will hear a story about how I once cooked pork chops so much they were like hockey pucks. That was one of the reasons I decided to teach my daughters to cook. I will never live down that story, or the one about the failed Meat Loaf.

Because of our love for the ease of pork chops I thought it might be good to add a few more recipes to our rotation. There is not an exact recipe for this meal so just toss what you want into a bowl.

  • About 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 boneless pork chops
Mix vinegar and brown sugar in a shallow dish. Add pork chops and marinate for 1 hour or up to overnight. Heat a medium skillet and cook chops on each side for 3-5 minutes or until done.

Adding too much vinegar.

Stirring in the brown sugar.

These went over very well with the pickiest eater in the house, daddy! I would love to show you how tasty they look but I seem to forget a finished picture when we are cooking food for dinner.

  1. I have a bunch of flavored balsamic vinegars and I bet they would be great with pork. Blackberry-ginger anyone? Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Be sure you teach them laundry too. I knew not to wash whites with jeans. But one time my mother in law was over and went with me to get the laundry. Well, I didn't wash them together, but the jeans weren't dry yet, so I threw the tidy-whities in with the jeans to dry. My mother in law gasped as I pulled out her son's baby blue undies.
