#SundaySupper Marinated Tofu

Grilled tofu.

We are a family of traditional and bland. Our dinners are mostly family favorites and American classics. Not much in the way of new and different. I am trying to change that. It is hard because I want to make sure my family has a full  belly before bed but I would still like to try new ideas.

I decided to go out on a limb with a tofu recipe that could easily be added to a dish of safe foods. It was not a huge success but it was not a total failure either.

  • 9oz Firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
Drain tofu and cut into strips. Pat dry with a towel and set in large shallow dish. Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl and pour over tofu. Let set at least one hour. Place a little olive oil in a large skillet or griddle pan and cook tofu  minutes on each side. I served these over a bed of noddles and the girls mostly ate the noddles. I let them play with chop sticks so they had fun with the noodles.
