Peanut Butter and Banana Wraps

Maurene has been on a banana kick for several months now. I try to keep healthy food within easy reach of the entire family so there is a fruit bowl on the counter. She has been known to have four bananas in one day! I have had to move the fruit bowl a few times to restrict Maurene's access.

In order to satisfy her love for bananas I decided to incorporate them into a recent lunch. Originally I had planned to use flour tortillas but when I went to pull them out I found the entire package missing. I blame their father and his late night snacking. So we made do with sandwich bread with the crusts cut off, flattened.

Audrey and Maurene's Tasks:
  1. Peel bananas
  2. Spread peanut butter on bread
  3. Help flatten bread
  4. Roll bananas up in bread
Mom's Tasks:
  1. Gather ingredients
  2. Cut crusts from bread
  3. Assist girls
As you can imagine this meal went over very well. I did not get a picture of the final plate but I do have one of just the banana roll-up. This bread was a whole grain and they ate it with no complaints. Bananas and peanut butter can help the taste of many a healthy food. Give this presentation a try next time you need a quick lunch or yummy snack. It goes well in whole wheat hot dog buns as well.
