Back to School, Already?

I was shopping for lunch supplies and noticed Target had a large supply of Back-to-School items already. How does this happen? Every year I plan to relax and enjoy summer and I no sooner get into a nice summer schedule than it is almost over. I know the big box stores are simply getting ready and we still have a little time. But I can just feel the sands of time slipping through my fingers. Ok, I am being dramatic. Back-to-School is just around the corner and I want to be prepared.

Audrey and Maurene will not need any new supplies but we will be shopping for great deals on winter clothing and some new Lunch Supplies. You might be interested in Back-To-School Clothing or great deals on Patio Furniture. We make a tiny little commission on purchases made through our links so think about any online shopping you planned to do and see if you can contribute to these little cuties:

And now to some great ideas for lunches to take when your little ones do go back to school.

  • Sandwich Recipes For Picky Eaters from Parenting.com. This is a great site for quick ideas on everything from no-cook meals to dinners you can make with your kids. You know we love it.
  • Bento Lunches, have you tried them? We like to make a toddler attempt at them every week and post up to the What's For Lunch Wednesday. This site will fill your head with ideas and then you can check out all the links on Wednesday for even more.
  • This Peanutty Apple Spread is amazing. We like it best served between two rice cakes, apple cinnamon of course!
In the coming weeks we will be sharing some more lunch ideas. Check back with us! And please share your ideas in the comments or on our Facebook Fan page.

  1. Thanks for the ideas! I'll have to check out some of those lunch sites.

  2. I think Target sends "Back to School" to all their stores at the same time. Here in Arizona some schools have already been in session for 2 weeks, so it's a good thing we get the products now!

  3. I have to admit I started this post a bit ago so it is not as much of a shock to see Back-to-School. But school starting already? What about summer? I am trying to decide if I like the idea of summer break or more year round schooling. I can't decide. But summer break does sound like it should last into mid-August.

  4. School for public school children starts next week. My sister in Georgia starts this week. It seems to early for me.

  5. We got out in mid-May, so that might make a difference. We've definitely had plenty of time in our house. I like the idea of year round school. They would still get six weeks of summer break using the modified schedule one of the districts around me uses. That seems perfect.
