April 4 Smash 'Em!

Audrey was named after my beloved Great Grandma Rose. When I was younger we would go stay with her overnight and she would cook for us. For dinner we would usually have pork chops and instant mashed potatoes. She claimed that we were lucky to have very smooth potatoes with no lumps. I had no idea there was better than instant mashed potatoes. And then I learned to cook. Now I make my own real mashed potatoes. Recently, Maurene helped.

  • 4 baking potatoes
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
Peel potatoes, if desired. Cut into pieces and place in a pot of boiling water. Cook until tender. Add remaining ingredients and mash.

Maurene's Tasks:
  1. Help measure and add ingredients
  2. Mash!
Mom's Tasks:
  1. Gather ingredients
  2. Peel and chop potatoes
  3. Assist Maurene
I had fun sharing this task with Maurene. And you can make your mashed potatoes very smooth.

  1. After mashing, I whip mine with the blender to make them lump free.

  2. That sounds even better! Next time I have a few minutes I will give that a try. The girls love to use the blender.

Audrey wants to hear from you!
