Fresh bread crumbs are so easy to make and will use up all of those stale pieces of bread you have stashed in the freezer (that's just me?). I like to stick the ends of the bread loaf in the freezer, still in the bag, for when we need to make bread crumbs. We pull the bread out, Audrey breaks it in half, and drops it in the food processor still frozen. She then turns on the processor and laughs maniacally while the bread is reduced to crumbs. It works just as well in the blender. We love to make fresh bread crumbs for recipes and then store the extra in the refrigerator for when they are needed again. If you need dried bread crumbs simply pop the crumbs in the oven for 10 minutes or so to dry out. Now you can use these in your meatloaf or to bread chicken.
