Eat Local Challenge Day 2

Audrey helped me roast a chicken from Hilltop Farms and cut up vegetables from our CSA, Mellowfield Urban Farm. To this I added pasta and sauce to make a nice meal. For dessert we had a watermelon from the Farmers Market and a Honeydew from The Merc. This was not a 100% local meal but it was pretty close.

Audrey's Tasks:

  1. Cut vegetables
  2. Peel shallots and garlic
  3. Add herbs
  4. Pour water over top
Mom's Tasks:
  1. Gather ingredients
  2. Cut chicken
  3. Place pan in oven
  4. Cook pasta
I let Audrey cut the vegetables in any way she wanted and throw herbs in the pan wherever. When we poured the water in the pan to roast it the herbs mixed up and got over everything. After the chicken and vegetables were finished baking I took them out; cut the up; and mixed them with pasta and sauce. It was easy and good.
