Strawberry Salad

How do you start cooking with your young children in the kitchen? Start simple. Have your toddler help you tear lettuce for a salad. Give her a variety of toppings to select from and let her make the dish all by herself. You may end up wanting to redistribute a few ingredients but it is worth it when they see the dish served and know they made it. This is how Audrey started helping. Her grandparents make a strawberry salad that even Audrey likes (mostly.) Here is the recipe:

  • Mixed greens
  • Toasted walnuts
  • Feta
  • Strawberries (or pears if they are in season)
  • Diced red onion
  • Top with a berry vinaigrette of some kind (we like Brianna's)
