It's Chicken!

Somehow we never got around to making cake. Such is cooking with a toddler. This weekend was full of family and friends and food. We did, finally, cook together this evening making one of Audrey's favorite meals. Because her father was playing with the camera we got artistic looking shots instead of our usual basics. Here is the guideline for Oven Baked Chicken adapted from Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook:

  • Chicken (skinless)
  • Butter, enough to cover
  • Breadcrumbs, to coat
  • Italian seasoning
Brush butter on chicken and then coat with breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning. Cook in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes to an hour or until done.

Audrey's Tasks:
  1. Brush butter on chicken
  2. Pour breadcrumbs over chicken
Mom's Tasks:
  1. Gather ingredients
  2. Place chicken in oven
This is one of the easiest meals to fix with toddlers. I recommend a pastry brush for the butter and then let her pick up the bread crumbs with her hand. Audrey is getting really good at this meal. Pretty soon she will be able to help with gathering ingredients and she will just need me for the oven placement.
